Payroll – Changing Pay Types

To change an employee’s pay type, e.g. from salary to wages, follow the steps below.

1. Go to the Payroll sub tab of the employee record.

2. Change the Pay Type, eg. from Wages to Salary.

Note: you will need to be in Edit mode and Save this change.

3. Use the Create Salary/Wages button to set up a new salary component, setting the appropriate Start Date within the component.

4. Step 3 should automatically set an end date to the previous wages component – check here to confirm.

5. If needed, change your Ordinary Hours Per Week – this is used to calculate the employee’s leave entitlements.

Note: you will need to be in Edit mode and Save this change.
