The JCurve ERP edition of NetSuite is an exclusive small business edition available to JCurve Solutions customers. As such, not all NetSuite enhancements and features will be released to the JCurve ERP edition.

We’ve made it easy for our customers to see the applicable features and enhancements in the following 2017.1 release summary.

Should you be using a NetSuite edition, please see the full NetSuite 2017.1 release notes.

1) Enhancement to Customer Dashboard

NetSuite includes a specialised dashboard that is available for every customer. The customer dashboard provides instant access to key customer's data, so you do not need to search through multiple screens to gather and piece together the information you need.

  • A new Timeline portlet is available on the Customer Dashboard.

2) Vendor Dashboard

You can view a real-time dashboard for each of your vendors. The vendor dashboard enables you to see vendor data pulled from vendor records at a glance without having to search records individually. Vendor dashboards show Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), trend graphs, report snapshots and reports pertaining to each vendor.

  • The Vendor dashboard enables you to see vendor data pulled from vendor records without having to search records individually. By default, a vendor dashboard includes the following portlets and more:
    • KPI displaying important summary data for the vendor
    • Dashboard Links portlet with links to reports related to the vendor
    • A list portlet displaying the vendor's transactions

3) Enhancement to Purchase Transaction Form

A purchase order allows you to record a pending purchase and keep a record of items you need to stock or expect to receive. Then, you can track items you receive and items that remain outstanding.

  • Users can now customize forms to choose whether the Item or Expense subtab shows default on top of the following transactions:
    • Purchase Orders
    • Item Receipts
    • Vendor Bills

For example to re-arrange the subtabs on a Purchase Order, click Customise:

Then click Lists > Items and drag and drop the tabs into your preferred display order and Save.

4) Transfer Orders (In Transit Accounting)

When you need to transfer inventory from one location to another, you can enter inventory transfer orders to schedule and track the movement of items. Transfer orders are different than basic inventory transfers because you can track each stage of the transfer process and know when items are in transit.

  • You can choose when the transfer of ownership occurs for items being transferred between locations. Ownership can transfer either at the time of shipping or the time of receipt.
  • For transfer orders, use the following default international commercial terms (incoterms) to define transfer of ownership:
  • ExWork (EXW)–inventory owner ship is transferred at the shipping point
  • Delivered at Place(DAP)–inventory ownership is transferred at the destination point

In Transit Accounting (Delivered at Place)

At the time of item fulfillment, inventory is still owned by the source location, but it is out of the warehouse.

5) Suite Promotion

  • Stackable Promotions
  • Auto-Apply Promotions
  • Best Offer

Note: If you are interested in setting up Suite Promotions please get in touch with your account manager.

Stackable Promotions

  • The stackable Promotions feature lets you apply multiple promotions to an order or transaction. Customers are no longer limited to one promotion per transaction. Any combination of item promotions, order promotions, and shipping promotions can be an order.

Auto-Apply Promotions

The Auto-Apply Promotions feature automatically adds eligible promotions to a transaction. By default, any eligible promotion that can be automatically applied is added to a transaction. On the promotion form you can determine whether a promotion can be automatically applied. You can also disable Auto-Apply on the transaction when needed, allowing promotions to be manually applied. When changes are made to a transaction, the Auto-Apply Promotions feature recalculates which promotions the transaction is eligible for.

Promotion                                                    Exclusive           Auto-Apply

Best Offer

When multiple promotions can be added automatically to a transaction, including exclusive promotions, you need to apply the correct combination of promotions. SuitePromotions always applies the promotion or promotions that give your customers the best offer available. If you have many promotions running at the same time, Best Offer in combination with the Auto-Apply Promotions feature saves you valuable time and ensure customer satisfaction.

6) Suite Sign On

This feature allows you to bypass the authentication step when accessing an integrated third party application from the NetSuite user interface.

The benefits of the SuiteSignOn feature include improved usability, increased security and access control, reduced IT and support costs, use of NetSuite as the single trusted system for authentication, and simpler, more secure web services integration.

To turn this feature on navigate to: Setup > Company > Enable Features > SuiteCloud > SuiteSignOn and click Save.

7) Advanced PDF In Saved Searches

Advanced PDF/HTML Templates support printing saved search results for any record type. You can define multiple print templates for a single saved search using the same Template Editor that you use to edit transaction templates.

  • Printing Saved Search Results:
    • When you view results of a saved search, you can use the filters to show specific search results. If the Advanced PDF/HTML Templates feature is enabled and a template is available for printing the saved search results, a popup window appears. Select the template that you want to use to format the printed saved search results.
  • New Template Button has been added to the saved search edit page

8) Commit Order Schedule Management

To schedule the commitment of items to orders, you must first define search criteria to identify the types of orders to which items should be committed.

You can choose from the following methods to define your saved search:

  • Define criteria within the form.

  • Define criteria using a saved search.

After setting criteria to identify the orders to which you want to commit items, you can commit items for that group of orders on a predefined, scheduled basis. After you have set a schedule, items are committed at the scheduled time.

  • Previously, on the Commit Orders form, to identify items to commit, you needed to source a previously saved search. Now, you can specify search criteria directly on the Commit Orders form to identify items to commit.

9) Enhanced Employee Center Portlet

Assign your employees an Employee Center role to allow them to track and enter timesheets, enter their expense reports and purchase orders.

  • New portlets are created for Expense reports & Purchases. Additionally, the reminders Portlet has been improved to show the information you need when you approve expense reports & purchase requests

We also encourage you to complete the recommended NetSuite pre-release tasks.
